ADVOCACY REFERENT

We are looking for the Advocacy Department: A “FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER” ADVOCACY REFERENT Based in Paris

Overall objective of the position: Under the responsibility of the Advocacy Director, and in line with ACF’s objectives, the Referent for “Fight Against Hunger” Advocacy is tasked with proposing and implementing the advocacy strategy regarding the fight against malnutrition. In doing so, he/she will develop ACF’s positioning and manage the advocacy projects, in relation with the fight against hunger.

Responsibilities:

Proposing the strategic elements of the “Fight Against Hunger” advocacy - Follows-up and analyses the trends in advocacy against malnutrition both internally and externally - Collects, analyses and disseminates the relevant documentation - Supports the Advocacy Director in the elaboration of ACF- International’s strategy on all aspects related to advocacy against malnutrition

Following-up the activities related to the “Fight Against Hunger” advocacy - Implements the “Fight Against Hunger” advocacy activities of the action plan of the Advocacy Department - Supports the Director for the recruitment, the definition of activities and the follow-up of all new employees working on the “Fight Against Hunger” advocacy

Communicating internally and representing ACF externally: - Contributes to the development of new tools for internal trainings on advocacy - Participates to internal trainings and interventions on advocacy - In collaboration with the Director, represents ACF externally on issues related to the “Fight Against Hunger” advocacy (institutional donors, research centers, universities, coordination groups, French and international bodies, etc.) - Supports the development of ACF’s network in its “Fight Against Hunger” advocacy - Participates to national and international conferences - Participates to international meetings on advocacy with ACF-International’s network

Qualification and previous experience: Post-graduate diploma in public health, agronomy, WaSH and/or political sciences. At least five years of relevant professional experience including, either one year of humanitarian experience at field level linked to advocacy or two years of experience linked to advocacy on malnutrition at the headquarters of an international humanitarian organization. A thorough knowledge and understanding of the key actors, issues and policies in the field of malnutrition and food security is compulsory. A first-hand knowledge of ACF’s technical positioning would be desirable.
Skills in analysing and synthetizing information are requested. Previous experience in carrying out scientific studies. Successful applicants will demonstrate diplomatic and teaching skills enabling them to influence decision-makers and expose their ideas convincingly. An excellent command of English and French (oral and written) is compulsory. Frequent travels throughout Europe and occasional long-range trips/field visits to be scheduled.

Status: Executive Level – Fixed-term contract of about 6 months – Full time

Compensation & benefits : Salary between 34 and 37 K€ gross over 13 months, 20 days of extra leaves (RTT)/ year, restaurant vouchers of 8 € (60% covered by ACF), complementary health insurance (covered 80% by ACF), refund of 50% of public transportation fees
