Vacancy: ALIP Operations Manager Switzerland Vacancy Type: Permanent Business Unit: Seeds Functional area: Legal and Tax / Intellectual Property Location: CH - Basel Responsibilities: • Provide very experienced and high level patent and paralegal support to contribute to the lead, driving and shaping of the global ALIP operations platform • Manage globally legal, patent and trademark processes, databases and tools according to sustainable excellence and continuous improvement standards, together with the ALIP Operations Leadership • Globally and continuously develop and improve reporting, controlling, quality assurance and governance of processes and data, together with global ALIP Operations Leadership • Manage locally the IP (Patent) Operations Switzerland team as part of the global ALIP Operations Platform • Proactively manage maintenance and continuously improve global processes for the IP Operations Platform for ALIP Operations, IP and Legal Leadership • Diligently drive the documentation of the processes in IP and Legal in CaseWise to a high level allowing continuous improvement, in line with the maintenance and adaption of the workflow tools (IPM Process Manager et al.) • Drive and contribute to the global training on ALIP operations training on tools and processes • Update globally law and rule in patent and trademark laws around the world, and their integration into the global processes and tools • Diligently manage and drive the patent portfolio annuity (and/or trademark maintenance) processes • Support the transformation from local support office management to global process governance • Manage the local paralegal/ patent support specialist team in Basel to higher efficiency, as part of the global ALIP Operations platform Requirements: • 8+ years of relevant experience in corporate legal or IP • Corporate licensing or law firm environment with wide-range responsibility for complex matters • Understanding of global Patent and Trademark laws and processes, supported by Paralegal certification for IP matters (e.g. CIPA certificate) • Excellent understanding of the responsibilities of an industry patent and trademark department and IP Management software (IP Manager) • Ability to align service providers with internal processes • Management or supervisory role in legal, patent, trademark or licensing support position is a plus • Analytical, project and people management and Leads change skills • Focus on (internal and external) customers
