Brand Change Project Manager FTC 01/02/2012 - 31/01/2013

Context/Scope


  • The role is within the Brand Change Europe Team which delivers brand change on Spirits, RTD’s and Wines for Global Brand Teams, IMC’s, Diageo Innovation, and Europe Supply Centres.

  • Part of the Global Technical function, Brand Change Europe is set up to deliver Innovation, Renovation, VAP and Supply Centre brand change activities across Europe, excluding Beer.

  • There are three main project management groupings based at Menstrie Scotland, Santa Vittoria Italy and Dublin Ireland, with a total headcount of c. 40.

  • Europe-wide, c. 250 major and 350 minor projects will be delivered in FY11.



Purpose of Role

TO FORM AND LEAD CROSS BUSINESS TEAMS TO DELIVER BRAND CHANGE SOLUTIONS, WHICH SATISFY CUSTOMER BRIEFS IN TERMS OF QUALITY, COST AND TIMESCALE.



Top Accountabilities


  • Formation and leadership of cross business teams to deliver medium to large scale brand change activities.

  • Delivery of “True to Concept” liquid and packaging solutions to agreed cost, quality and time commitments.

  • Application of required project planning, budgeting, tracking, reporting and stakeholder communications processes to demonstrate required rigour of project management.

  • Application of necessary packaging development skills to ensure “Design for Quality” packaging designed which performs well at all stages in the Supply Chain.



Qualifications and experience required


  • Degree level qualification or equivalent, ideally in technical area.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, being capable of developing sound working relationships.

  • Sound people co-ordination and management ability.

  • Institute of Packaging Diploma or equivalent, or commitment to train for same.

  • Strong project management skills with sound knowledge of a wide range of packaging materials and processes including:

    • Liquid development and commercialisation

    • Artwork specification and management

    • Reprographics process

    • Design and development of packaging and materials

    • Materials manufacturing and due diligence

    • Materials handling, transportation and transit robustness

    • Risk Management practices and techniques



  • Ability to develop sound understanding of Technical Centre Europe and Brand Change processes and Ways of Working.

  • Ability to develop sound understanding of Navigate process.

  • Commercial awareness and financially literate.

  • Excellent organisation, report preparation, and presentation skills.
