Digital Agency Relationship Manager

This business and marketing oriented role regionally focused in Europe and Africa, is responsible for managing digital advertising agency relationships, on behalf of Diageo. The Agency Relationship Manager will guide the agency through their entire lifecycle – assessment/review, on-boarding, training, execution, escalation (if necessary) and evaluation.

This individual serves as a single point of contact to the agencies on all tactical and strategic aspects of their participation on Diageo digital marketing work. It's key that this person has a well-grounded agency knowledge and background. Additionally, the job responsibilities may include managing small projects to augment our agency offerings or capabilities and occasionally supporting execution of digital campaigns working with brand teams.

Primary Responsibilities include

  • On-board new agency partners and evangelize Diageo's digital solution (NEO) to existing agencies

  • Manage all communications with agencies so as to ensure accuracy and consistency

  • Oversee agency training and ensure agency readiness

  • Monitor and ensure agency compliance with Diageo principles and approach

  • Work with Service Desk to resolve agency issues, including deployment schedules

  • Closely align with Procurement to drive the Agency Scorecard process

  • Host semi-annual Agency Days

Secondary Responsibilities include:
Manage agency personalities and teams involved in the creative development process to ensure they are comfortable, knowledgeable & enthused
Act as an ombudsman and be the "voice" of the agencies within Diageo
Harvest any potential agency process improvements; Challenge and build the agency model
Manage projects to enhance communications or capabilities of NEO for agencies
When necessary, can work with brand managers and agency to bring digital campaigns to life.
Background and necessary experience
> 4-10 years experience, including significant time spent within an agency
> Knowledge in the Digital marketing space essential; Mobile, Social and Web understanding is critical.
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Gregarious, customer service focused – however this is not a selling position or with revenue targets.
> Ability to influence
> Organized, able to manage multiple high velocity projects simultaneously
> High level understanding of technical principles and processes is desirable
