BBC Bangla is part of the BBC World Service, broadcasting on radio in Bangla to South Asia. We also have a website, BBCBangla.com, showing audio/video streams and regularly updated news headlines. So, our output is varied with a strong emphasis on international current affairs. As such, our environment is fast paced with tight deadlines and news updates being the regular occurrence.

Requirements

You’ll bring significant and current experience as a reporter and/or journalist which incorporates originating material and editing the work of others. You’ll supplement this with an in-depth understanding of South Asian politics and international affairs. So, you’ll have thorough familiarity with Bangladesh and an in depth knowledge of our audience requirements. Due to these needs, Bangla will be your first (or equivalent) language but you’ll also have full comprehension of English. You’ll supplement this with first class IT skills, including extensive knowledge of the internet, and of the mobile telecom market.
