Chad Finance Officer, P3

  1. Reviews, designs, initiates and updates systems for record keeping and reporting of government departments and implementing agencies through various workshops, and ensures simplification and consistency with UNHCR accounting systems and timely and correct submission of financial statements;
  2. Monitors expenditure of various projects and ensures timely submission of financial reports and analyses reports received from various projects to ensure such reports meet UNHCR requirements, rules and regulations;
  3. Constantly reviews financial requirements and forecasting of expenditures;
  4. Establishes monthly cash requirements for the office and requests timely replenishments from Headquarters;
  5. Liaises and keeps close contact with local banks, manages all accounts and observes local foreign exchange control regulations;
  6. Prepares the obligation plan for operational projects in co-ordination with programme officer(s);
  7. Advises the head of office on all budgetary and financial matters;
  8. Normally supervises and coordinates the work of at least one lower level professional and 2 GL staff;
