Head of Technical Operations

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Head of Operations for the Americas to work in our Washington DC Broadcast Centre. The Head of Operations for the Americas will: Manage and run the daily department’s operation to produce an error free broadcast for the global viewers Lead and manage a team of operations staff in providing day-to-day professional services and solutions to News, Programmes & Creative (Graphics). Have experience working for a broadcaster in a newsgathering or production environment and an interest in news and current affairs is essential. Have good management and people skills with the ability to interpret the editorial vision and implement accordingly. An understanding of the whole broadcast process from acquisition to delivery to Doha HQ. Responsible in managing the day to day operations of the various units in Washington DC Broadcast Centre namely in the area of Studio Operations Newsgathering Post-Production and Editing Master Control Room and Ingest Operations Media Traffic & Media Asset Management Satellite Facilities and Bookings Archive A minimum of 8-10 years of operational management experience in a broadcast environment and a bachelor’s degree are required to perform this job.
