The GIZ IS Office in Brussels has currently approx. 50 staff, the majority of whom is working in the implementation of EC funded projects.

Application information

We are currently urgently looking for a Junior Project Manager to start as soon as possible.

The contract based on Belgian law will initially be determined for a period of 6 months with a 1 month probation period.

Junior Project Manager

The Junior Project Manager will assist the Senior Project Manager in the monitoring, identification and acquisition of project opportunities in the framework of the EC Structural Funds.

a) Tasks:

  • Internet research and monitoring and analysis of EC policy and tender documents of Member States;
  • Drafting of summaries of policy or tender documents;
  • Contributing to the drafting of technical proposals, editing texts including tables, graphics etc. in Word, Excel or Power Point;
  • Participation to meetings, preparation of meeting documents and drafting of minutes;
  • Identification of potential partners and contact management with these organisations;
  • Internal communication with relevant units within GIZ;
  • Updating of databases;
  • Organizing and updating the electronic and paper filing system;
  • Any other administrative support that might be required.

b) Requirements

  • University degree;
  • Two years working experience including traineeships;
  • Experience with (EC) tenders and/or project management would be a major asset;
  • Mother tongue or equivalent level German; Sound command of English and of Bulgarian and/or Romanian (ability to read and understand complex documents) are a must;
  • Able to work precisely under high time pressure and workload;
  • Service-oriented attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills, keen on working in a team;
  • Full IT proficiency (all current MS Office applications, internet);
  • Work permit for Belgium.
