Position summary

The role of Marketing Generalist, International, is required to provide short/medium term cover for a current associate’s maternity leave. The position will be on a full-time basis, and will include a handover period at the beginning and the end of the term.

The role is responsible for promoting the Broadridge brand and a portfolio of solutions for the international markets. The solutions span both the Securities Processing Solutions/BPO and Investor Communication Solutions divisions of Broadridge. The role will report to the Vice President, International Marketing, and will be a member of the Global Marketing group. The role also includes accountability to business leaders and sales management in Europe, AsiaPac and North America, and an ability to develop effective working relationships with these constituents while also demonstrating marketing leadership.

The Marketing Generalist will have proven marketing experience, preferably in the financial services and/or technology industry. The successful applicant will be a team player with strong organizational abilities, strong written and oral communication skills for both internal and external communications, and a positive can-do attitude. The role also requires a thorough understanding of Microsoft desktop tools including Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and a proficiency for learning and using other electronic tools which will be required for e-marketing (eg. electronic mailshots), CRM and general office management.

General responsibilities

  • Tradeshows & events:
    • Overall management of logistical requirements
    • Co-ordinate with conference organizers, country managers, sales and other internal groups as required
    • Liaise with telemarketing group
    • Arrange transportation of marketing materials, IT and booth
    • Distribute invitations and mailshots
    • Site visits and venue selection as required
    • Source booth graphics/design, printed materials, raffle prizes/give-aways from external suppliers
    • Set-up and pack away as required
    • Booth management during large-scale tradeshows
    • Timely capture of leads, record onto CRM system and co-ordination of follow-up
    • Work to budgets
  • Campaigns
    • Provide general campaign support including email blasts, mailshots and liaison with telemarketing services
    • Arrange distribution databases
    • Monitor and report on ROI
  • Newsletters
    • Agree and develop content with business/marketing leaders
    • Arrange all graphics and formatting
    • Disseminate using web-based email blast tool
  • Press
    • Maintain a schedule of forthcoming press releases
    • Write first draft of press releases
    • Maintain library of trade publications and renew subscriptions as required
    • Renew and refresh service directory entries
  • Promotional materials
    • Maintain inventory of brochures and supporting collateral
    • Liaise with graphic designer and proof-read all for brochure changes
    • Distribute new materials to sales groups and overseas offices
  • Advertising
    • Manage all logistical requirements relating to online and print ad placement, including agreements with publications, commissioning internal graphical production and delivery.
  • Measurement
    • Monitor, measure and communicate results of all marketing communications activities
  • Marketing administration
    • Enter leads onto Salesforce.com and obtain reports for month-end reporting
    • Administer purchase orders and record expenses by project
  • Marketing tools
    • Use of online tools for: event management, email marketing, sales and marketing CRM, purchase orders

Qualifications:

  • Qualification and/or experience in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or Journalism

Experience / personal specification:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably business-to-business (B to B) in the financial services and/or technology industry
  • Experience executing marketing promotions and campaigns with a strong results orientation
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and in writing, internally and externally. Cross-cultural sensitivity in communications
  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects with resilience to manage workload spikes.
  • Strong organisational skills and adherence to deadlines
  • Highly experienced user of Microsoft desktop suite and proficiency to learn/use other tools required in an electronic marketing environment.
