The responsibilities of this position are to help supervise transgenic drought studies in the field and screenhouse, operates laboratory/field instruments and equipment, record results and collect data for drought physiology research, and coordinate with the molecular/laboratory component of the project. The duration of this project will be 9 months.

Major accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Manage transgenic field and screenhouse studies (establishment, proper water and drought stress treatments, keeping up with weeding and monitoring of pests/diseases)
• To do physiological measurements, including stomatal conductance and SPAD readings, as well as growth and yield analyses
• Compile data and share with project members, attend all lab meetings, have good communication about the status of the experiments
• Oversee seasonal help (Kabesilya) during planting and harvesting and perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor

Qualification requirements
• At least college graduate
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Experience in physiological work and management of field and greenhouse studies, and instrumentation for physiology studies. Experience working with transgenics is desired but not required.

Screening will start on 05 January 2012 and will continue until a suitable candidate has been found.
