Job Details Salary: up to £35,109 Contract Type: Full time, permanent Working Hours: 4 on (0600-1800hrs) 4 off followed by 4 on (1100-2300hrs) 4 off Location: London Heathrow (Line Maintenance) Closing date for applications: Monday, 2nd January 2012 Role Purpose The Aircraft Technician is responsible for accomplishing delegated maintenance tasks on VAA or contracted customers aircraft to the required Airworthiness standards. The primary objective is to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft by achieving and striving to exceed, the standards of airworthiness set by Corporate and Airworthiness Authority policy / procedures and requirements. Responsibilities Responsible for completing aircraft maintenance tasks delegated to them in a cost effective / timely manner ensuring that such work is accomplished to the required airworthiness standards. Ensuring adherence to company engineering procedure requirements and company policy prerequisites. Maintain full and responsible communications concerning their allocated maintenance tasks. Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policy requirements. Requirements Completed an Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship or formal training programme A licence essential Academic qualifications either City & Guilds or BTEC/ONC Wide bodied Cabin experience along with experience on any of the following aircraft an advantage : B747-400, A340 - 300/600 and A330 Excellent communication skills High level of attention to detail Ability to work well as part of a team
