Job purpose:
Drive the offering and effective delivery of selected complex projects by providing direct and functional leadership

Key Tasks

Project Management
• Drives designated projects that oversee all aspects of large-scale / complex implementations that address customer business needs by
• planning, directing and coordinating all related activities to ensure that objectives of designated projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame, funding parameters, quality standards and contractual terms & conditions
• developing and monitoring project financials, resource requirements and risk profiles, monitoring governance adherence and providing comprehensive reporting
• managing the project according to Services Business Desk (SBD) policies and the Tier-1 Methodology Playbook
• achieving top-box Customer and Partner Experience (CPE) scores across portfolio of designated projects
• Ensure projects are run according to Microsoft policies and procedures
• Help to identify the skills and capabilities for the project
• Review and monitor project progress and resolve issues and problems
• Report progress and project data to the customer and internal stakeholders
• Drives the Bid Management activity for designated bids
• Ensure development of mission critical value propositions & proposals
• Lead a virtual team across Services Sales, MCS Delivery, Architects, COE’s, SBD, Global Delivery, 3rd parties, etc
• Leverage Pursuit Team from Global Delivery and continuously refine engagement model to keep improving the level of value add that WE gets from GD Pursuit
• Engage SBD function to optimize bid, needed approvals and win probability
• Manage the bid according to Microsoft Solution Selling Process (MSSP) and Tier1 Methodology Playbook
• Leverage and re-use all available IP’s
• Help to identify the skills and capabilities for the bid, assessing bid resources required and their availability
• Review and monitor bid progress and resolve issues and problems
• Manage the bid budget as delegated by the local Deal Review Board
• Define the structure of the bid and allocate tasks to ensure all elements of the bid are assigned owners
• Liaise with bid authors to determine status, progress, outstanding actions / issues and likely delivery dates
• Report progress and outcome to the local Deal Review Board

Functional
• Substantively support and coach PjM’s in the field in meeting their bid & project objectives
• Promulgate usage of SDM and Tier1 Methodology Playbook
• Lead the Project Management Community in WE for learning and peer-to-peer support
• Build and share best practices within community
• Confers with project manager to provide project management advice and to resolve problems
• Provide program content expertise
• Organize and inspire re-use
• Engage in project reviews for coaching and sharing best practices
• Ensure a high perceived value of the PjM profession
• Write and publish articles (thought leadership on project management)
• Evaluate existing project management practices and recommend improvements
• Ensure appropriate project management training is provided to elevate project management capabilities

Managerial
• Work closely with country service management in order to get a solid forecast on to be expected bids and projects
• Work closely with SBD to create a complementary operation and project governance
• Manage the relation with all internal stakeholders
• Liaise with management at all levels of WE Services, managing their expectations for project delivery, escalating project issues, risks and recommendations to senior leadership as appropriate

Job requirements
• Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership position
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are mission critical in nature
• Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, presentation skills and superior communication
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Bid Management experience (commercial understanding)
• PMO experience preferred
• Internationally and multi-cultural experience preferred
• Able to manage by authority
• Results oriented
• Willingness to travel (extensively)
