Employee Liaison Officer University College London - UCL Qatar

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 5. The salary range will be £19,411 - £22,475 per annum (depending on skills and experience) plus a generous support package.

UCL Qatar is seeking an experienced individual for the key role of Employee Liaison Officer. This is a challenging new post to assist and deliver a service for staff and students at UCL Qatar. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the post holder will work in maintaining good government relations activities for UCL Qatar. The appointee will interact with Qatar Foundation and Government agencies to ensure the smooth processing of visa applications, scheduling of medical examinations, issuance of driver licenses and other documents that may be required by the Qatar government for resident employees. The post holder will liaise with the immigration specialist to maintain accurate and complete records, both paper and computerized, and be available at all times for emergencies as required. The appointee will need to prepare written documents in Arabic.

Applications are sought from candidates with procedural knowledge in dealing with local municipalities in Qatar. Applicants must speak, read and write in Arabic and English and posses a current Qatar Driving License (due to the nature of the role there is extensive travelling within Doha) and a thorough knowledge of Doha with a good understanding of Gulf culture. A knowledge of electronic government practices and the ability to work with, influence and negotiate with people at all levels is required, as well as the flexibility to work unusual hours as necessary.
