Finance, Controls and Compliance Advisor

Context The Business and Compliance team within the Global First Point organisation is a newly created team following the recent Organisation Model review. The team will, amongst other things, develop and lead the delivery of the Global HR function’s CARM, controls and reporting programmes; lead the Global First Point annual planning process, working with key stakeholders and DBS to agree annual recharges and associated budgets; and work with the Global First Point Leadership team to build the overall commercial orientation of the First Point operation.


Reporting to the Business and Compliance Manager, the Finance, Controls & Compliance Adviser will be responsible for a wide range of controls, compliance and finance services in support of all areas of the Global First Point team
The role will be judged not only on the support provided to the maintenance and improvement of the overall Global First Point business and controls platform but also on the ability to ensure that information flows support management in quick decision-making, and that appropriate processes are in place to ensure that our controls, financial and service targets are achieved in a controlled and efficient manner.


Purpose of Role

Controls and compliance support to Global HR, including FirstPoint. This will include direct support as required to the Global CARM agenda through the CARM Manager.
Support to the development and growth of Global First Point by ensuring that financial support is provided to all areas of the function as required.


Top 3-5 accountabilities

Support to the annual CARM and controls’ cycle across Global HR
Work with the Business and Compliance Manager to ensure that the annual HR First Point budget setting and re-charge process is streamlined, understood and communicated.
Support the goal of Global First Point to build the commercial acumen of the organisation by providing expertise and advise on controls and finance aspects of the operation
Provision of ad hoc financial services as required e.g. support to the UK & ROI payroll in transitioning all finance aspects of the process to the payroll teams in a controlled manner; support to HR projects on financial matters


Qualifications and experience required

Qualified accountant, 1-2 years PQE
Excellent analytical and questioning skills
Good working experience of Cost centre reporting, management accounting and reporting within a Financial Services environment or similar business support function.
Self motivated and resilient, able to proactively identify issues and drive delivery of solutions
Good at relationship building, high level of communication skills
