The International Post Corporation is the postal industry’s partner company that provides leadership by driving service quality, interoperability and business-critical intelligence, and gives its members an authoritative, independent and collective voice.
Its shareholders are 24 postal companies around the world which account for about 80% of the world’s mail volume. Its main activities are to study, develop, promote and provide products, services, standards and advice for the common use and benefit of its members in the normal course of their business. Members must be the providers of postal services, or their subsidiaries engaged in the provision of cross-border mail.
The IPC Upgrading Project develops and manages plans to support the continuous efforts of the IPC member Posts to upgrade the international letter mail service to meet customer demands. Several operational services are run that help to improve inter-operability between the member Posts. The IPC Upgrading Project continues to maintain and enhance existing initiatives, as well as develop new initiatives, to further optimize and integrate processes between Posts and between Posts and key suppliers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active solution oriented manager to support and further enhance the IPC Tray Pool, the IPC Bag Pool, and the IPC Sprinter Network.

Responsibilities:

  • Define yearly budgets (Tray Pool ≈ € 0.6M, Bag Pool ≈ € 0.3M, Sprinter Network ≈ € 1.6M) and prepare monthly/yearly invoices to participating Posts in accordance with applicable Multilateral Agreements (MLAs). Prepare tenders for services as needed;
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of the Tray and Bag Pools and the Sprinter Network, in accordance with applicable MLAs, including:

o Monitoring of member and contractor performance,
o Compliance with agreed requirements, inventory control, transport movements,
o Monitoring and analysis of EDI messaging,
o Cost control.

  • Support the pools and network by making cost-benefit assessments, providing training, identifying and evaluating opportunities for improvement, and maintaining technical documents and records;
  • Support member contacts and ensure compliance with the Multi-Lateral Agreements and contractor compliance with the Sprinter contract;
  • Ensure suppliers’ service provision is to specification;
  • Maintain technical specifications and operational procedures documents;
  • Organize yearly Bag and Tray Coordinators’ meeting;
  • Support Head of Department by providing expertise, cost/benefit analysis on the services and business cases for new Posts to join services.

Requirements:

  • University graduate or proven professional record;
  • Professional training in Logistics would be an advantage;
  • Min 3 years demonstrated success in the logistics/freight transport/mail industry/(air) cargo industry using technology as a primary tool;
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems and electronic data interchange tools used for process and quality management;
  • Experience in cost-benefit assessment and operational and transport related processes and procedures;
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimum of supervision;
  • Pro-active with methodical and disciplined approach in problem solving;
  • Excellent written, oral communication in English;
  • Demonstrable influencing skills;
  • Experience in working in multi-national, multi-cultural environment would be an advantage.
