Role Purpose ::

To oversee the safety function in the Bank Group including the related safety systems (fires fighting, fire prevention, alarms, smoke sensors…etc) to ensure that the Bank’s staff and assets are very well protected.

Manage the Safety Contractor staff and follow-up their performance to ensure that highest Safety service quality and appropriate & reliable safety systems are in place.

Key Activities ::

• Prepare safety plans short, medium and long terms as well as contingency plans for emergency circumstances.
• Contribute the development of the annul work plans for the safety team members and follow-up to ensure effective implementation.
• Ensure Implementation of safety policies and procedures for the Bank, ensure these are effectively communicated to all staff, and monitor their implementation and address issue of non-compliance.
• Maintain safety systems (such as fire fighting system - alarm or alert system)
• To ensure that all safety related requirements of latest edition of life safety code (LSC) of the national fire protection association (NFPA) (or similar international equivalent protection standards) is in place.
• To ensure that the safety hazardous materials and the decontamination and spillage control procedures are implemented.
• Supervise the tests of fixed fire suppression system and other technical duties of safety function.
• Hold and maintain records of all equipment, including tests, repairs and functionality.
• Ensure that all safety section equipments are fully functioning to the extent possible by directing operational supervisions and staff in the equipment inspection and test schedules as per the standard and in liaison with other department if necessary.
• Monitor and follow up the contractor staff to ensure they provide an effective and efficient safety service
• Evaluate all Safety staff performance, prepare work schedule and follow up them
• Ensure that the safety hazardous materials and the decontamination and spillage control procedures are implemented tasks reports.
• Prepare, manage and control the Safety function team training programs.
• Ensures that all Bank staff has their proper safety orientation and in service training programmed in accordance with LSC 101 and national fire protection association (N.F.P.A.) standards.
• Prepare regular progress reports to keep the Head, Safety & Security abreast of the latest development in the safety prospective and update him with the latest information of the safety status in the Bank Group and Housing Complex to insure stability of the Bank Safety and to insure an effective and timely treatment for any related problems.

Experience:

• 4-6 years experience including experience and good knowledge of industrial safety & security systems and procedures.

• Wide knowledge of safety systems, tools & techniques, policies and procedures..

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Science in safety/fire and loss prevention, or any relevant area such as Mechanical, Electrical, electronics and industrial engineering degrees can be considered.
  • Certified courses in the field of safety., occupational health and safety, or related/equivalent field required.
Other Information:
  • Must be bilingual, Arabic/English (written and oral is a must).
  • Working knowledge of principles, practices, laws, standards related to safety, requirement, as well as knowledge of local government regulations.
  • Good command of computer skills is a must.
