Senior Advisor, Planning and Operations, Advocacy & Justice for Children (A&JC)

A Senior Advisor, Planning and Operations, is needed to develop and implement a comprehensive planning and operations framework for WV's global Advocacy & Justice for Children (A&JC) function, that ensures that A&JC delivers on its global strategy. This position is the key operational and planning role within A&JC and reports directly, as 'Chief of Staff', through the Senior Director to the Partnership Leader, A&JC, providing technical leadership to the Partnership Leader as he builds A&JC as a fully-functioning ministry in WV and supporting him in coordinating the Management Team. The Senior Advisor works with leaders across all other areas of the Partnership to integrate A&JC into all key strategy, planning and finance processes in WV, to ensure business objectives are met. As the lead technical expert, this role will provide recommendations to senior leadership on all aspects of organisational innovation and compliance. This position will also be responsible for creating and ensuring the successful execution and ongoing operation of a new (currently non-existent) monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system for the Partnership-wide advocacy ministry (equivalent to WV's LEAP system for Programming M&E). This will include securing buy-in and ongoing support from WV's top leadership, and also representing WV externally in this technical field. The position of Senior Advisor requires a candidate with a strong track record of success both in terms of technical expertise and in influencing without authority


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive planning and operations framework for global A&JC function,
• Create and ensure the successful execution and ongoing operation of a new Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system for the Partnership-wide advocacy ministry and represent WV externally in this technical area,
• Act as 'Chief of Staff' for A&JC, Integrate A&JC into all key planning, and finance processes across WV, to ensure business objectives are met

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

REQUIRED:
• MBA (Master of Business Administration) or similar,
• Very strong technical (business planning) skills (able to take leadership role),
• Three years in a senior planning role, including M&E experience,
• Very experienced in financial management,
• Experience of working in complex, global organisation,
• Excellent written and spoken English

• Experience in INGO sector
