Applications are invited for the post of Solicitor General in the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

Applicants must be a qualified Barrister or Solicitor of a Commonwealth jurisdiction and must possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification experience in all aspects of civil law, preferably within a Government environment. Extensive, proven experience in litigating civil matters in the higher courts is also required. Applicants must be capable of representing the Crown in major cases involving complex legal issues and must also possess sufficient experience and depth to provide legal advice at the highest professional level. Applicants must have acquired experience in more than one of the following areas of law: Constitutional, Administrative, Civil, International, Conveyancing/Planning, Corporate and Telecommunications. Applicants must be capable of working with and providing leadership to a team of Crown Counsel and administrative staff and, therefore, must possess significant management experience at a senior level and strong interpersonal skills.

Short-listed applicants will be required to undergo an assessment/skills test.
