seek qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Chief of Party-Livelihoods Program in the Middle East Region.
Position Description:
Unemployment
and underemployment has been identified as among the most pressing
problems facing the Middle East. The problem has serious implications
for establishing lasting peace and security as well as building the
foundation for future economic prosperity. In support of this national
development priority, USAID is considering a program designed to improve
livelihoods and create jobs with special emphasis on youth, women and
vulnerable populations.
The Deputy Chief of Party will provide
back up and support to the COP and oversee the operational and
administrative functions of the program, including finances and grants
management, security, human resources, and information technology. The
DCOP will be responsible for planning and directing schedules and
monitoring budget/spending. S/he will monitor the project/program from
initiation through delivery. Organize interdepartmental activities
within the program, ensuring completion of the project/program on
schedule and within budget constraints; select, develop and evaluate
personnel and partners to ensure the efficient operation of the program.
In addition, the DCOP will provide technical leadership in the
livelihoods development activities of program implementation.
