ACF is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for ACF in almost 50 countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.
We are currently looking for a NUTRITION SENIOR ADVISER, the person will join the Technical department in Madrid.
It is a strategic position in the organization with very interesting possibilities of professional development
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
  • Development and implementation of the nutritional strategy in ACF-Spain.
  • Guarantee the technical support and follow up of the health and nutrition projects in the field.
  • Identification and development of new areas of investigation
  • Participate in the definition and capitalization of new programmes in on-going missions and in new countries.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong competence in nutrition with a minimum of 3 years experience in humanitarian work
  • Capacity of analysis and synthesis
  • Flexibility
  • Training abilities
  • Interested for team work and integration with other technical areas
  • Rigor and autonomy in the work
  • Good written and spoken level in two of these languages: English, French and Spanish
  • Important: strong knowledge of nutritional subjects (treatment of severe malnutrition, micro nutrient deficiencies, clinical nutrition, metabolism…)
  • The candidate needs availability to travel to the missions

REQUIREMENTS
For candidates who are not in Madrid the first interview will be through telephone. Face to face interviews to be held in Madrid. Travel costs are initially on account of candidates, they will be reimbursed just in case of successful applications.
