PSI seeks entrepreneurial and dynamic candidates with an interest in private sector approaches to development for the position of Program Manager, Asia/EE.  The Asia/EE region offers an interesting challenge for the right individual. A growing number of countries are emerging middle income with a shrinking number of traditional donors but increased opportunities for private sector solutions. The Program Manager will develop and support specific country programs in this region, in preparation for an overseas post.  This position is based in Washington, D.C., and entails about 25% overseas travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Asia & Eastern Europe Program Manager will be responsible for delivering demand-driven programmatic, financial and organizational support for country programs, connecting platforms with functional and technical departments at PSI/Washington, managing a small regional support team, providing strategic planning support and developing new business opportunities for PSI.   Regional support duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assume direct responsibility for at least two country programs in the Asia/Eastern Europe Department;
• As part of a team identify key yearly priorities for the region and the regional support team and oversee achievement of these priorities;
• Manage monthly and quarterly reporting systems, including preparing and tracking budgets and program expenditures;
• Supervise and lead the professional development of at least two direct reports;
• Provide direct programmatic, financial and organizational advice and support to senior IS and HCN for optimal platform performance;
• Proactively identify new business opportunities and lead the development of PSI’s response to these opportunities;
• Facilitate the development of platform strategic plans
• Connect platforms with PSI technical and functional services and ensuring the delivery of quality services from these departments
• Ensure compliance with all PSI Minimum and Regional Department Standards and other donor and PSI contractual, procurement and financial reporting requirements
• Support the field implementation of PSI’s financial management and supply chain management system
• Ensure corporate organizational priorities are appropriately communicated with the field
• Lead corporate Technical Working Groups
• Monitor and review research plans;
• Other management functions as required. 
QUALIFICATIONS:  • Relevant post-graduate degree (MBA, MIA, MPH, etc.)
• Significant private sector management, marketing and/or communications work experience.
• At least two years of professional work experience in a developing country
• At least two years of management experience, including supervision of staff
• Familiarity with international development and health issues
• Familiarity with USAID and other international donors
• Fluency in a foreign language (especially French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian or Mandarin) preferred.
The successful candidate will have excellent writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-cultural skills; demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize a variety of tasks on short notice within designated deadlines; and an interest in a future overseas posting with PSI.
