Director, AWF Conservation Schools ( DACS)
AWF is currently seeking a talented professional to lead its new initiative of linking education to conservation, over the next 10 years in key wildlife landscapes in Africa. As this is a new position within AWF, the DACS will be the primary leader in crafting a vision, and the tools and systems to develop and support these schools. The DACS will work relevant teams to generate proposals, partnerships and relationships to attract funding and resources to make this program successful.
Program Manager, Conservation Planning
AWF is currently seeking a talented professional to drive planning and execution of conservation science strategies within AWF. Reporting to the Senior Director, Conservation Science the Program Manager, Conservation Planning will have the primary responsibility to provide programmatic and technical support to AWF’s Conservation Science unit. He/she will lead development and application of AWF conservation planning tools ranging from Heartland Conservation planning, macro and micro level land use zoning, support AWF monitoring and scoping efforts, and document lessons and best practices. The position holder will have strong knowledge of AWF’s Heartland Conservation Process and will engage all pillars in the African Heartlands Program. This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Program Design Officer, West and Central Africa (PDO, Western and Central Africa)
AWF is currently seeking a talented professional to lead its fundraising efforts in West and Central Africa Programs in Congo and Parc W Heartlands by ensuring a steady flow of high quality proposals and well serviced funding to the programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing opportunities for funding, providing design support to the Heartland teams, and for contributing to overall AWF analysis and knowledge management.

Tourism Development and Marketing Officer
AWF is currently seeking a talented professional to support its tourism and biodiversity conservation efforts in the project areas within its T4B Program, Uganda. Reporting to the Chief of Party, T4B Program, the Tourism Development and Marketing Officer will assist in developing and implementing USAID T4B program work plan in support of sustainable tourism and biodiversity conservation in the project areas, coordinate technical input into the program from partners and consultants, assist the technical implementation of field activities and liaise with relevant program partners, local government, other donors, and the private sector. This position will support activities that expand supported parks and community products tourism market share in the target regions and coordinate non targeted community tourism enterprises and other local partners in their activities.
Ecologist, Maasai Steppe Heartland, Tanzania
AWF currently seeks to hire a Heartland Ecologist to be based in its Maasai Steppe Heartland Office in Arusha, Tanzania who will be responsible for all conservation science in the heartland. Reporting to the Heartland Director with matrix reporting to the AWF Chief Scientist, the Heartland Ecologist will be in-charge of design, data collection, collation, storage, analyses and dissemination of information in ecological monitoring, integrated land-use zoning, climate change and applied species research and conservation in the Maasai Steppe Heartland.
Media Relations Intern
The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) has an immediate opening for a qualified Media Relations Intern to work in the Marketing & Membership Department. Reporting directly to the Senior Writer and Publications Manager, as well as occasionally reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Media Relations Intern will work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented department in order to support AWF’s media & outreach and asset digitization efforts.
Editorial Intern
This internship provides a unique opportunity to meaningfully contribute to AWF's marketing strategy for its conservation efforts in sub-Saharan Africa.
