Asian Development Bank Director


Job Purpose
Provide leadership for the credit portfolio monitoring function within Office of Risk Management (ORM). Lead in ensuring best practice and timely monitoring and reporting of credit and concentration risks in the operations portfolio and in managing impaired transactions. Lead the planning, implementation, and supervision of the division's vision, goals, strategies, and work plan in support of ADB goals in nonsovereign operations and risk management. Oversee the quality of work and ensure the achievement of objectives of the division. Lead and support external and internal relations, coordination and consultation initiatives for the department, and promotion of risk culture in ADB.  Lead and provide guidance on day-to-day credit portfolio monitoring and corporate recovery activities and issues and compliance with ADB risk management policies. Work with problems and issues that involve high risk.

  • Supervisor: Head , ORM
  • The following staff positions may be supervised by the incumbent: Administrative Staff, National Staff, and International Staff
Education Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent, relevant to the assigned area. University degree combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
Relevant Experience and Other Requirements  
  • Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level. 
  • At least 15 years of banking experience dealing with credit risk monitoring, reporting, and management issues related to complex debt/equity/guarantee portfolio of corporate, project, and structured finance transactions within the financial/capital market and infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in credit risk assessment of individual loan, guarantee, and direct and indirect equity transactions under a credit approval, portfolio review, or corporate recovery perspective.
  • Experience in corporate recovery/restructuring involving corporate, project, and structured finance transactions preferably in emerging markets.  
  • Detailed understanding of best practice portfolio management and corporate recovery/restructuring.
  • Strong knowledge of banking products, financial and risk modeling, stress test methodology, analytical framework for assessing economic capital and loan loss provisioning adequacy, rating methodology, and risk management concepts.
  • Excellent intellectual, team leadership and problem solving skills including strong ability to manage effective teamwork and communication.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. 
  • International experience working in development in several countries.
