DESCRIPTION

The Inter-American Development Bank, established in 1959, is the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean.  It provides loans, grants, guarantees, policy advice, and technical assistance to the public and private sectors of its borrowing member countries.

The Office of Risk Management (RMG) is seeking a talented Resource Planning and Administration Analyst to conduct budget and HR administration activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate’s main responsibilities will be, among others:

·         To process and coordinate all administrative activities of the Office.

·         Coordinates all matters related to the contracting of complementary workforce and the selection process of interns for the Office.

·         Conducts routine technical analyses or research in support of Office activities, for example preparing documentation to support the activity planning and workflow management within RMG.

·         Coordinates budget planning within RBB framework, monitoring, and execution activities, including expense recording, accruals, and contracting or procurement activities, ensuring accuracy and quality control of data and preparing related reports, as necessary.

·         Interacts with RMG staff in the review process for pertinent rules and policies in the Bank's Manuals, as well as in translation and uploading of changes, as required.

·         Attends meetings of the Bank's Resource Planning and Administration officials.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONSULTANCY

·         Consultancy Category & Modality: International, DTC

·         Contract duration: up to 4 years

·         Place(s) of work: Based at headquarters, travel as required by the work assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Education: Bachelor's degree in areas related to Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance or other relevant discipline.

·         Experience: Between 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in budget and administrative tasks. Knowledge of Bank-wide administrative and operational policies, processes and systems.

·         Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Working knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.

PAYMENT AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The work will be carried out at Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. Remuneration will be determined in accordance with Bank regulations and criteria. The Bank will additionally contribute toward travel and moving expenses, if applicable. If a candidate is not a citizen or resident of the United States, the Bank will apply for a G-IV visa from the consulate of the United States in the candidate's country of origin. If a candidate cannot obtain a visa to work at the IDB the contractual offer will be rescinded.
