Duties and responsibilities:
  • Design, coordinate and implement creative and innovative teaching and learning programmes.
  • Produce, maintain and facilitate research outputs.
  • Implement, monitor and maintain quality standards in teaching, learning, research, academic citizenship and community engagement.
  • Teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Involvement in professional and academic citizenship.
  • Contribute towards community engagement and outreach.
Inherent requirements:
  • Relevant Master’s Degree in Nursing and will be required to enrol for a Doctoral Degree at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of appointment.
  • Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse (General, Psychiatric, Community Health Care), Midwife/Accoucher, Nursing Education and Health Care Management.
  • Good academic record and completion of qualifications in the minimum period.
  • Achievement in scholarship development in all three areas: teaching, discovery and engagement.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and the Internet.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function comfortably in the University’s parallel medium and multicultural working environment.
  • Valid drivers’ license.
Recommendations:
  • Completed Assessor training successfully.
  • Completed Clinical Preceptor training successfully.
