Department Strategic CommunicationAssistant Officer (post level 13) (25 hours per week) (contract appointment: 1 year) – Ref.: S1301-002
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage the workflow system of the UFS website. 
  • The workflow is an electronic website content management system that has sequence of processes through which a piece of work (such as a new or edited page) passes from initiation to completion (publication) through different levels of approval.
  • Ensure that content is of good quality.
  • Ensure that the UFS branding is correctly applied on all pages.
  • Ensure that page layout is done according to the prescribed guidelines.
  • Ensure that all links on the website are in working order.
  • Ensure that photographs and images are of good quality.
Inherent requirements:
  • Relevant post-school qualification
  • Relevant experience in the website content writing environment.
  • Editorial experience.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and the Internet.
  • Ability to function under pressure.
  • Ability to work accurate and systematic with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to a high standard of work.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s multicultural working environment.
Recommendations:
  • Basic knowledge of HTML.
  • Knowledge and work experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience in website content work.
