The Role :
Corporate Communication Lead to play a leading role in India and ensuring that Corporate Communication activities are well managed: building a powerful and differentiated global brand; enhances long stakeholder and customer relationships, inspires employees and candidates; and drives profitable revenue growth. This position requires extensive knowledge of Contextual Communication, Communication Management, Media Management, Communication Agency Management as well as a team-working spirit, creativity and good interpersonal skills.
Key Stakeholders:
Group Communication colleagues, Country Manager in India and local management team, Press and media, external stakeholders, suppliers, Country Board with Group Management Representative, BA management teams and BA managers as applicable in the country and communicators in BAs, Group Function Heads and team members within country.
Key Performance Areas:
The role of the Corporate Communication Manager is both strategic and operational, it's a hands‐on position that requires a strong knowledge of communication and the geographic area, as well as a good management of an organizational network in the area:
- Group Communication will drive the overall Communications Strategy for Sandvik Group and the Country Corporate Communication Manager will assist in its formulation at the country level.
- The Corporate Communication Manager will, on the basis of the agreed strategy, devise and be responsible for the delivery of the Annual Communications Plan(s) in the country/cluster. This will include plans for the communications budget, demonstrating value for money and return on investment.
- Building and managing country communications in coordination with the Sandvik Business Areas’ Marketing program/s.
- Partnering with HR to develop communications materials, particularly in the area of employer branding and supporting employee benefits communication in the country/cluster.
- Writing, editing, proof-reading and publishing communications content by him/herself or coordinating the activities (with BA or Group Function contacts) in one of the countries for successful target audience awareness and engagement
- Reviewing, editing and optimizing content submitted by Group Communications; continually identify best practices that support content strategy efforts and considering specific strategies to modify communication content to meet the diversity of cluster countries, which includes countries cultural or language and other special needs.
- Develop and execute innovative, effective messages that engage Sandvik audiences, align with the Group Communication strategy and brand, and leverage all forms of media, including sponsorships
- Work in alignment with Group’s communications team to support business priorities and drive execution of communications needs/plans.
- Developing networks and relationships with key governmental bodies in India .
- Engaging with key industry associations such as CII, FICCI and other relevant industry associations.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with Group Communication, Country management, BA Communication and Marketing Leads, and broader Regional Communications team to drive tactical implementation of communication initiatives that align with the company strategy.
- Drive and execute strategic key messages through key messages or key communication materials, cascade to cluster/country and senior leaders.
- Support priority projects, such as strategy communications, brand positioning efforts.
- Play an active part in the wider country communications team (BA contacts), including seeking out and applying best practices from other Sandvik teams and from outside the organization, and contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous skills development.
- Provide hands on and operational communication support, including intranet, internet, leadership and employee communications, community outreach, sponsorships, proof-reading, content writing, reporting, distribution management, measuring communications effectiveness to continually seek ways to improve and innovate in the field of communication.
- Responsible for budgeting process for cluster/country communication budgets in line with Group Communication.
- Ensure transparency and cost controlling of cluster/country communication
QUALIFICATION:
- 15 - 20 years of experience with university degree in Communication or Journalism or corresponding skills/education
- Post-Graduation in same stream will be preferred.

Significant experience in developing and delivering high-quality, innovative communication across multiple channels. Experience of managing communication teams and the ability to take a strategic view, as well as the relevant technical skills and abilities to be hands-on in delivering agreed plans as duties include practical and hands-on tasks.
The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver a coordinated communication strategy across the target markets.
Personal skills:
A desire to make a difference combined with the ability to collaborate a senior/middle level within the broader business is a must in this role. Must have an understanding of different cultures, a collaborative networking approach & excellent ability to inspire, motivate and lead people and projects to best outcomes.
English language is a must, local language skills, other languages advantageous.
Extensive experience working within a similar position or similar experiences. Ability to act efficiently within a complex, global environment and region. Demonstrated communication focus with the ability to build effective working relationships. Extensive experience from internal and external communication roles, managerial experience is advantageous.
