Restless Development South Africa is the lead implementing partner in the Eastern Cape for the two-phased regional initiative titled ‘Safeguard Young People in Southern Africa Programme’ (SYP), which is being implemented in eight Southern African countries (Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe) and is coordinated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) regional office East and Southern Africa (ESARO).
The broad aim of the SYP is to improve and expand HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescents and youth aged between 10 and 24. In addition, the programme seeks to empower adolescents and young people to protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) inclusive of HIV, unplanned and unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, early marriages, gender-based violence and harmful cultural practices whilst promoting gender-equitable norms.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic team leader who will be able to drive the SYP Programme in 2016 – alongside the Programme Manager and Country Director – and in conjunction with our partners – for a fixed term (up to 16th December 2016).
