CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian organization. For our current project in Ramtha, MSF Spain (NGO) is looking for:

1 Clinical Psychologist

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

The Clinical Psychologist helps patients and their caretakers to cope with their situation, to reinforce their social and environment adaptability and to engage themselves in their own recovery.

The Clinical Psychologist will be based in the Primary health care centre in Turra, in Ramtha District.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Degree in Psychology or Counselling and Mental Health or Psychological Counselling (or other in the scope of psychology), with psychotherapy, clinical and/or counselling psychology working experience

Experience: At least 2 years of work experience in psychotherapy, clinical and/or counselling psychology. Experience working with both adults and children.

Desirable:

• Strong preference given to candidates with previous work experience in clinical supervision, training and/or coaching others;
• Previous work experience in the medical field, and/or with vulnerable population (particularly with Syrian refugees);
• Experience in similar role in humanitarian assistance/with other NGOs.

Interest in helping vulnerable people, Calm and with ability to listen, Capacity to work independently, Ability to discuss sensitive psychological issues, and to respect patient confidentiality, Diplomacy, good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, etc.

Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic.

Starting Date: As soon as possible.

We would offer an initial 6-month contract with a 3-month probation period. This post is a local position, open to individuals who already have the right to work in Jordan, and it is based in Ramtha.
