From Johnnie Walker to Smirnoff, Diageo is searching for Modern Apprentices from different backgrounds who have a voracious appetite for manufacturing culture and supply chain practices. Our products are at the heart of what we do at Diageo Manufacturing and packaging them are some of the most important elements of our business. We operate in a world full of heritage and innovation where age old craftsmanship meets cutting edge science and latest engineering technology.

Within the ISC our Supply Chain team covers a number of areas, including customer service, distribution optimisation, managing 3rd party logistic providers, warehousing, freight and transportation.  They also manage all the production planning of the portfolio produced in the distilling plants of the ISC.  They are responsible for moving over 60 million cases a year from Europe to over 170 countries and 530 customers globally.

We are currently recruiting for a number of Modern Apprentices in Supply Chain Management, with opportunities at our sites in Glasgow and in Leven, Fife.  You will join one of our Service and Supply or Supply Planning teams, and throughout your 3 year Apprenticeship will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the roles within these areas.
In addition to the on the job training we will also support you through the achievement of a SVQ qualification in Supply Chain Management.  We believe that these qualifications, the opportunities you will be given to develop your skills and experience during the Apprenticeship, and the insight you will gain into Diageo’s Supply business will provide a first class foundation for your future career.
 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 
We’re looking for apprentices who not only have the capability to succeed in our organisation today but also have the potential to be our leaders of tomorrow. We are looking for unique talent who are committed to the role and Diageo from day one.   Key to your success in this role will be a natural curiosity and a willingness to learn.  In addition it is essential that you are a self-motivated, confident communicator and great team worker.
  • 5 x National 4s or Standard Grades at Level 3+: Must include Mathematics and English
  • Must qualify for Modern Apprentice programme criteria (as detailed on Skills Development Scotland)
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication
  • Positive and flexible attitude
  • Ability to demonstrate strong work ethos both individually and as part of a team
  • General computer system knowledge and experience preferred – ability to functionally use Microsoft packages 
  • Full UK driving license is preferable but not essential
  • Can be a part served apprentice
