’Union of the Electricity Industry – EURELECTRIC’ is the sector association representing the electricity industry at pan-European level. We seek to contribute to the competitiveness of the electricity industry, provide effective representation for the industry in public affairs, and promote the role of electricity in the advancement of society.
EURELECTRIC is seeking to appoint a: Communication & Public Affairs Coordinator, Markets & Customers, (ref.CPAC-1604)
Temporary (8 month maternity replacement)

Overall task:

  • Raise the industry’s public profile, creating awareness of its key messages;
  • Define a strategy for communication and public affairs on wholesale and retail electricity market issues;
  • Execute appropriate activities in these areas.

Job description:

  • Externally:
    • Ensure effective communication of complex industry messages to expert and non-expert audiences;
    • Organise meetings and events as appropriate;
    • Contact policy-makers and members and respond to their requests;
    • Draft press statements and articles in line with target audience.
  • Internally:
    • Advise policy units and experts on means of effective communication and public affairs;
    • Ensure correct execution of the jointly defined strategy;
    • Liaise with communication colleagues and report to the Communication Head.

Requirements and competencies:

  • University degree with minimum 3 years professional experience in public affairs and/or communication;
  • Knowledge of European energy issues, a definite plus;
  • Excellent written and spoken English a prerequisite;
  • Independent, organised and stress-resistant team player, capable of handling a variety of tasks;
  • Dynamic, outgoing personality, eager to work in a busy, international environment.
