SOURCING AND LOGISTICS SPECIALIST

LOCAL PRODUCTION & GLOBAL SUPPLY?
WE LIKE THAT ABOUT YOU
Balancing between costs on the one hand and service levels on the other, is a daily challenge for someone working in the supply and logistics area. The goal is that every single customer gets the right product at the right time, without building excessive stock on our part.
Kanthal Services in Hallstahammar has been created in order to grow the heating system and services business within Product Area (PA) Wire and Heating Technology. The department will deliver turnkey solutions for customers who require our services and products, including installation and commissioning. We are now looking for a Sourcing and Logistics Specialist to fill a temporary position, from May 2016 thru October 2016, due to parental leave. This is a role within a global team of nine members (and expanding), with great potential to build internal and external networks.
Job Summary
As a Sourcing and Logistics Specialist your overall function is to provide technical support in sourcing and logistics, in order to ensure the performance of all suppliers who deliver products and services, by sourcing the right quality, on time and at the optimal, lowest cost. You are responsible for helping to put offers together for customers, while working with sales and sourcing suppliers, and making sure suppliers deliver within the project plan's time frames and at the right price. You assist in technical enquires (for example, whether our products fit the customer's applications) and you have contact with vendors and suppliers while working out costing of projects. This role also includes working with subcontractors as well as with internal colleagues. Furthermore, you identify, manage, and escalate issues/problems that cause bottlenecks in the supply chain management process and report key metrics of the process, including critical success factors and service level agreements.
Working with team members overseas and visiting suppliers could involve some travel.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a technical or business degree. You have a background within Sourcing and Logistics and an understanding of heating systems, such as large industrial furnaces and heating elements. You have experience from project-based sales with specialized, tailor-made products, and project-based sourcing, including dealing with suppliers on a global basis. Global experience and knowledge within import/export procedures is an advantage, as is experience from a large capital equipment manufacturer. Good knowledge of standard Office 365, and an understanding of CAD/CAM drawing are also advantageous. Since we work in an international setting, you have good skills in English, in both writing and speaking, while skills in Swedish are a plus.
Where others see many, we see you – personally. Only if we truly understand you, can we add value to your development. We recognize and value your passion and personality, your hands-on skills in this cooperative role between production and suppliers, and your ability to analyze and evaluate both current and new suppliers. You are persistent when needed and, with your great negotiation skills and a touch of sales talent, you work smoothly with our sales units, customers and suppliers. Finally, you are a relationship builder, with excellent relations maintenance skills.
We are a company with an open-minded culture, actively working to create a workplace that is characterized by diversity and inclusion.
