Sandvik seeks:
Financial Accountant
The role
  • To manage and control information to various stakeholders:
  • Report financial information to internal management.
  • Monthly/Quarterly & Year end financial closing and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance to all legal and regulatory requirements (including Tax)
  • Ensuring completion and submission of all relevant tax returns
  • Debtors control
  • Cash book control
  • Local and foreign creditors and Treasury Department
  • Aurora System – maintenance and general ledger
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Assisting Finance Manager with all aspects of the finance department
  • Managing of Finance Department Staff
  • Co-ordinate information and resources at multiple sites (including Botswana & Mozambique)
  • Fixed Asset Control
  • Implementation and ensuring effective internal controls
  • Overseeing that all finance functions and operations run smoothly in the absence of the Finance Manager
Your profile
  • A Levels
  • Degree in Financial Management/Financial Accountant
  • Postgraduate Professional Qualification - CA/ACCA or similar
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proven competence in Microsoft applications - advanced in Excel
  • Business language requirement
  • People management skills
  • At least 3-5-year’s experience in a financial department or a professional services accounting firm
  • Ability to delegate and manage
  • Deadline driven – very tight schedule
  • Good communication skills
  • Motivated and ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines. Long hours will be required at times
  • Must be willing and able to travel in and out of country and travel to mine sites in Zimbabwe, Botswana & Mozambique
