Manager: Rock Engineering
Based in the Corporate Mineral Resources Management (MRM) department and working in collaboration with other disciplines, you will support the Head of MRM by initiating, defining and implementing Rock Engineering strategies, standards and plans. As a definitive member of a highly skilled and motivated team, you will be overseeing and giving rock engineering related direction to Anglo Platinum mines, projects and joint ventures.
A strong practical operations focus will see you provide specialist rock engineering services and expertise, as well as technical guidance. The role involves considerable travel.
To be a success here, you'll need extensive and diverse experience in the mining industry (with around 8 years at a senior level), as well as detailed knowledge and understanding of narrow tabular and massive platinum mining. Qualifications-wise a 4-year degree in an appropriate Engineering or Scientific discipline, a Chamber of Mines Rock Engineering Certificate or postgraduate Rock Engineering qualification will be expected. You should also be a member of SANIRE. Preference will be given to candidates registered as a Professional Engineer or Natural Scientist. Ref: 698966
