HAITI: Grants & Information Officer

Based in Port au Prince, Haiti 1 September 2011 Start. This position is subject to funding. 12 months Unaccompanied

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced individual to join Tearfund’s Disaster Management team in Haiti. Tearfund is implementing a £3m per year post-earthquake recovery programme in Haiti with over 100 staff, focusing on Shelter Construction, Livelihoods, Water and Sanitation, and Disaster Risk Reduction.

Based in Port au Prince with frequent travel to the project base in Leogane, the role will involve closely working with project staff, Advisors and managers in drafting and editing donor proposals and reports ensuring compliance with various donor regulations, Tearfund policies and government processes. The post holder will facilitate and document project reviews and evaluations, success stories and lead analysis of project experience to derive learning and good practice. This position will also require frequent travel to Haitian Programme field sites.

Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with written and spoken French a distinct advantage. A graduate degree in a related field or qualification in development, journalism, international relations or communications is also required. Suitable candidates will have experience with donors and multilateral donor mechanisms. Proven experience in grant management, proposal development (including logframes and budgets) donor reporting, project cycle management and implementation is essential.

The post holder will be a team player who is flexible and able to demonstrate initiative, strong organisational skills, and experience in both networking and representation.

The nature of the work will require the successful candidate to apply for a Police / Criminal Records check. Applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s Christian beliefs. Salary: £23,537 gross per annum plus competitive benefits package
