Position Summary
IREX seeks qualified experts and consultants to contribute to an anticipated program in Uganda focusing on basic education. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of providing expertise through training, mentoring, analysis or on-site consulting in the following areas:
· Primary school level curriculum development, with a particular focus on literacy
· Pre- and in-service teacher training
Duties & Responsibilities
Consultants will work in partnership with the Chief of Party and IREX/Washington program team to:
- Provide assistance in developing and implementing national- and local- level curriculum reform efforts focusing on literacy
- Assist in development of instructional materials
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with local education institutions and officials
- Coordinate with and regularly report to IREX/DC
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting on program activities
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in a relevant field
- Substantial experience working in curriculum development and teacher training
- International development experience (USAID experience preferred)
