Position Summary
IREX seeks qualified experts and consultants to contribute to an anticipated program in Uganda focusing on basic education. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of providing expertise through training, mentoring, analysis or on-site consulting in the following areas:
· Education Assessment, with a particular focus on primary school literacy and EGRA methodology
Duties & Responsibilities
Consultants will work in partnership with the Chief of Party and IREX/Washington program team to:
- Review current education assessment strategies used by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) in Uganda
- Develop alternative strategies for educational assessment and evaluation programs based on analysis and research
- Serve as an education assessment advisor and liaison with educators, schools, districts, the MOES, and other stakeholders as requested
- Assists the MOES in conversion and implementation of new assessment tools
- Support the MOES in conducting technical training for schools, districts and other users on new assessment tools
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree in a relevant field
- Substantial experience working in education assessment, include extensive professional experience on EGRA methodology
- International development experience (USAID experience preferred)
