Underground Mine Surveyor

Located in the Laverton Gold region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia's Sunrise Dam is Western Australia's premier gold mine. This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces 400,000 oz of gold per annum. Sunrise Dam Gold Mine seeking a highly capable Underground Mine Surveyor to manage and perform surveying tasks to enable the safe and efficient achievement of targeted mine production in our underground operations at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Tasks will include:

• Surveying underground development, drilling and surface infrastructure to enable definitive analysis of mining progress and assist calculation of mining contractor accounts;
• Collecting and processing survey date and production plans, reports and other forms of spatial information including systems to ensure integrity and continued availability of data;
• Assisting in the implementation of appropriate systems and standards to ensure a continuous and cost effective provision of services;
• Maintaining survey and ancillary equipment;
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory mine plans and reporting requirements; and
• Contributing to the development of weekly mine plans and schedules for mine optimisation.

Accountable to the Senior Underground Mine Surveyor, the successful applicant will:

• Hold a formal qualification in Surveying;
• Have experience with Surpac and Leica Total Station; and
• Have a strong technical background with good analytical, planning and prioritising skills combined with an ability to utilise gained knowledge.

Applicants with previous exposure to underground mining operations will be highly regarded.
