Accounts Administrator

The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) is an independent dispute resolution statutory body established in terms of the Labour Relations Act (LRA) 66 of 1995. The CCMA strives to be representative of South African society in respect of race, gender and disability.

The successful candidate will manage the financial and related support services of the region to support the Registrar in effectively managing the finance of the region.


Key performance areas: Accounts payable: • Verify allocations prior to the approval console on the system to verify funds availability over budget • Receive invoices • Match all the related supply chain documentation, • Ensure that all invoices have been authorised by the relevant budget controllers in adherence to the policy. Accounts receivable: • Accurately raise debtors invoices and ensure correct allocations for all activities and cash receipts in regions on a daily basis • Follow up on all outstanding debtors to reduce overdue/outstanding payments in adherence to the 60 days age analysis, on a monthly basis. Asset and inventory management: • Compare and verify all physical assets in the region with the asset register, on a monthly basis and accurately, and timeously scan and update the asset register with new and existing assets, on an ongoing basis. Compilation of financial reports: • Extract accounts payable and receivable age analyses and report on overdue items on a monthly basis, and forward to the respective Accountants at the National Office • Compile an expenditure variance report on a monthly basis, verify actual against the budget and report on variances, and forward to the Registrar for signature and submit to the National Office Accountant. Financial control: • Reconcile all petty cash requests with all the required receipts or proof of payment and forward to the National Office • Conduct spot checks once a month on the available petty cash funds and receipts to ensure that they balance.


Key requirements: • Grade 12 (or relevant equivalent) • National Diploma in Financial Management (or relevant equivalent) • 2 years’ financial accounting experience in a service organisation • Training on financial procedures and policies • Training on using the Case Management System • Training on ACCPAC.


Core competencies: Knowledge: • CCMA policies and procedures • Financial and legal processes • Financial and Case Management System • MS Office programmes, including ACCPAC and Excel.
