Communication Manager Eurometaux

Eurometaux is the Brussels-based association representing the European non-ferrous metals industry. It maintains an open and constructive dialogue with the European authorities and international or intergovernmental bodies in all areas of policy and legislation affecting the non-ferrous metals industry and its products, in order to ensure early consultation and to promote the industry’s views and positions.

Eurometaux seeks to recruit a:
Communication Manager (M/F)

Eurometaux is seeking to recruit a Communication Manager for an initial period of 2 years.

Reporting to the Secretary-General, the Communication Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Eurometaux communications programmes in accordance with our overall strategy, including development of high-level political messages, public relations, media relations, website content and corporate identity programme.

Main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Work with Secretary-General on developing a comprehensive communications/marketing plan so as to give more visibility and percussion to Eurometaux messages
  • Work with other Eurometaux executives and the Secretary-General to develop high-level political messages to support Eurometaux advocacy
  • Manage the Eurometaux Communication Committee supporting the implementation of the Eurometaux communication strategy
  • Work with the Communication Managers / Directors of the member companies, national federations and commodity associations to coordinate and maximise synergies with their own communication activities

Facilitate and organise Eurometaux external communication:

  • Develop relations with media and serve as media contact.
  • Conceive, write, prepare and place Eurometaux press releases in cooperation with the Secretary-General and the programme managers / directors concerned.
  • Conceive, write, prepare and place Eurometaux print advertisements.
  • Develop all information content of website, including regular updates of Eurometaux pages and addition of links to/from site.
  • Manage the production of Eurometaux newsletters
  • Write and produce seminar flyers, event invitations and charitable support ads.
  • Support internal communication, including:
  • Maintain listings, revisions and inventory of all Eurometaux collateral materials
  • Write and direct the production of special communications projects, e.g. Annual Report, Member Flash Infos and other communication instruments
  • Edit and produce speaker support presentation materials (print and Power Point) for seminars and speeches
  • Review Eurometaux position papers with the executives concerned to improve their communication impact potential

Preferred experience and qualifications:

  • Education: University degree required. MBA in Communication, Mass Communication or Journalism required.
  • Experience: Minimum five years in public relations or marketing position, professional services marketing experience preferred.
  • Required skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills: ability to write clearly for news organisations, speeches and presentations in English.
  • Special Skills: Must be fluent in English, self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision and to work well with companies, commodities, public and staff. Polished presentation and interpersonal skills required for representing Eurometaux in diverse environments. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office suite of applications. Working knowledge of Desktop Publishing Software helpful, but not required.
