The Tshwane University of Technology has the following vacancies in senior management. All the posts are full-time, fiveyear fixed-term contracts. Please note that some of the following posts were advertised previously and previous applicants who are still interested are required to re-apply.


DIRECTOR: SPECIAL PROJECTS

The Director: Special Projects reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor and provides high-level advice on strategic matters. S/he provides expertise and support in identifying and researching relevant strategic opportunities and emerging trends, initiating discussions, developing position papers and providing advocacy. The Director also assists in the preparation of speeches, memoranda, documents and presentations for the Vice-Chancellor and supports the executive management committee in special projects. S/he provides insight, advice and consultancy to the Vice-Chancellor and the executive management.


Requirements: • A relevant Master’s degree (a Doctorate would be an added advantage) • Five years’ experience at senior management level in a tertiary institution • Broad experience in different University functional areas and a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities affecting the tertiary sector nationally and internationally • Working knowledge of all legislation and policy affecting the tertiary sector in South Africa • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent researching, report writing and drafting skills • Well-developed analytical and conceptual
skills • Proven ability to think strategically • Management and leadership ability • Facilitation and project management skills
• Excellent computer skills.
