Emergency Response Team

NRC is a humanitarian organisation working in all phases of displacement with a special focus on the emergency phase. To further strengthen its capacity to respond immediately to the needs of our beneficiaries when a crisis occur NRC is establishing a standby Emergency Response Team. The members of this team will be on full-time contracts for rapid deployment to assess needs, initiate coordination and to start up any required first response activities in the affected area.

The team will be supported by a Rapid Response Section within the International Programme Department at NRC Head Office in Oslo.

The Emergency Response Team will be ready for deployment to emergencies within 48 hour throughout the year, of duration of up to 12 weeks. Between missions the team will in play a key role in the overall development of an improved emergency preparedness and response capacity in NRC, both at HO and field level.

Commencement: January 2012 or before Contract period: Two years, with the possibility of extension Duty station: Approx: 70% field (roving)/ 30% Head Office Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions: Senior Emergency Coordinator approximately NOK 53300,- (€ 6800) per month. Logistic Expert approximately NOK 48800,- (€ 6200) per month Shelter Expert approximately NOK 48800,- (€ 6200) per month
