International Research Manager InterMedia Survey Institute

InterMedia is a global research-based consultancy that provides a variety of public and private sector clients with specialist insight and strategic information in the fields of international development (including financial access and services for the poor), international media/communications, and strategic communications. We provide global thought leadership on the power and role of all media, communication channels and communication technologies to influence and effect change.

InterMedia is seeking an experienced International Research Manager with a verifiable track record of designing and delivering quantitative and qualitative research in developing countries. Candidates will need to have proven experience of effectively managing multi-country research studies and, ideally, will have applied knowledge in the field of financial access and financial services that are available to people at the bottom of the pyramid across the globe – often through mobile phones.

Ideal candidates will have the following mix of experience, skills and personal traits:

• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in political or social science, economics, international affairs, or related field with social science research methods and 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experienced in designing and delivering quantitative research projects in developing countries – including sampling approaches, weighting and fieldwork capacity strengthening
• Proficiency with statistical analysis, and ideally economic analysis, using appropriate software including SPSS and related packages
• Proven ability to work internationally in cross-cultural situations, particularly in developing and transitional countries
• Proven ability to analyze, synthesize and intuitively present quantitative and qualitative research
• Knowledgeable in the field of financial access, financial services for the poor and/or mobile money,ICTs and development trends and issues in developing countries.
• Proven supervisory, organizational, project and time management skills
• Ability to work to multiple and tight deadlines with a commitment to quality and accuracy
• Team player and self-starter; shows initiative; works independently; has innate curiosity; passion for research, analysis and delivering insight to clients

This position requires up to 20% international travel.
