Legal Adviser EBF - European Banking Federation

The EBF is seeking to recruit at a full time position, a Legal Adviser for its Retail, Legal, Economic & Social Policy Department. More particularly, he/she will be in charge of legal, banking related issues and assist the Executive Director in the coordination of the EBF Legal Committee and respective Working Groups.

DETAILED RESPONSABILITIES
In particular, the adviser shall take care of establishing the common position of EBF members on legal, banking related issues under development at EU level and to facilitate the exchange of information at EU and national level on such issues. In addition, he/she will ensure that the EBF plays a full and representative role in the political, legislative and regulatory processes in this regard.

PROFILE
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience in Banking and EU affairs policy issues.

In addition, the candidate should:

  • hold a university degree in Law and have a deep knowledge of both European Law and the EU institutional framework;
  • be fluent in English – written and spoken (other languages an asset);
  • possess excellent communication skills (both written and oral);
  • display excellent influencing skills, persuasiveness, a good sense of diplomacy and the ability to reach compromise;
  • demonstrate strategic and analytical skills;
  • have excellent organisational skills;
  • have the ability to work under pressure and cope with tight deadlines;
  • be able to work both in a team and also autonomously; in a multi-cultural environment;
  • handle politically sensitive subjects and generate agreement among members with diverse interests.

The ideal candidate will show great dedication to work, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards the various projects for which he/she will be responsible.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE
The person reports directly to the Executive Director of the Retail, Legal, Economic & Social Policy Department.
