Currently Barrick has an opening for a Sr. Manager Supply Chain to be based in Toronto.
Below are the key responsibilities of the position and the qualifications.
Position Overview
Candidate will be accountable for leading the development of a standard global process in demand management, integrated inventory and replenishment planning, supply planning, and logistics network planning. To be successful in this role applicants must have relevant experience developing global supply chain processes, a strong understanding of best practices in demand & supply planning, in B2B (business to business environment), and demonstrated strategic leadership, working with cross-functional teams implementing continuous improvements and best practices in global matrix organization. Most critical is the ability to develop a clear and communicable vision of how this critical area should operate to leverage efficiencies and improve value.
Position Requirements:
  • Conduct business process workshops and develop projects to identify and document business requirements for:
  • Supply chain planning master data processes (Catalogue, BOM's, network design)
  • Forecasting models, demand planning methods, inventory management standards and process including analytics and active planning simulation tools
  • Integration with key stakeholders including maintenance, processing, and mining operations including performance management and KPI reporting
  • Freight, distribution network planning, and warehouse management processes
  • Ability to identify and articulate business transformation and value captured
  • Participate in change management and organizational impact assessment
  • Contribute to implementation planning and execution
  • Significant travel required
  • Key knowledge and skills required to be successful in this role include:
  • Understand and articulate company's global planning strategy
  • Knowledge of operations planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Understanding and experience with integration of network and site planning
  • Knowledge of mining operations
  • Knowledge of procurement and supplier development

Organizational:

  • Work closely with IT group to optimize use of Oracle data for Inventory Planning and Purchasing Groups
  • Develop planning input for operations
  • Work closely with maintenance, mining, and processing
Essential knowledge & Experience:
· University degree (Operations or Supply chain, or Business)
· APICS / SCMP certification preferred
· ERP (Oracle preferred) knowledge required
· Forecasting and scheduling experience in high volume environment
· Strong understanding of demand planning & master production scheduling
· Strong understanding of MRP, inventory planning, supply planning, P2P, and work order management
· Warehousing design and standards
· Understanding of purchasing
· Knowledge of and accounting principles
