Whether we’re responding to emergencies, peace building or tackling the causes of poverty, we need to spend our money effectively. You’ll help make sure we do. The better you deliver accurate, high-quality accounting information, the better you’ll support country programmes right across the Oxfam Asia region.

About the role Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you’ll control all the region’s day-to-day financial operations. That means taking responsibility for everything from training Programme Offices on our financial systems and procedures to reviewing monthly accounts and financial reports. It’ll be down to you to oversee periodic reconciliations, make sure we comply with regulations and deal with any variances or non-compliance issues. A focal point for regional forecasting and monitoring, you’ll get involved in developing strategy, setting targets and influencing policies too. And at every stage, our Finance managers and other senior staff will rely on you to interpret financial information,offer sound, in-depth advice and maintain a detailed overview of how money is being spent right across the region.

About you Obviously you’ll have a strong financial accounting background, including experience at a management level, plus a keen eye for detail. More than that though, you’ll know how to interpret policy and put it into practice, and you’ll have proved you can come up with solutions to financial problems. What’s more you’ll be as talented with words as you are with numbers – good at making complex concepts simple to understand and at winning others round to your point of view. Add excellent teamworking, analytical and networking skills plus plenty of initiative, and you could soon be making a difference to an organisation that makes a difference to millions.
