Overview
The role of the Capital Investment Analysis and Control (CIAC) Specialist will be twofold.
- Review CapEx budgets, forecasts, and plans and monitor actual results against them and strategy, with a focus on leading the Group’s efforts of improving visibility into CapEx, the accuracy of forecasts and budgets, and the return on CapEx investments across the Group.
- Define policies and procedures for capital investments to improve the group governance and accountability and will further play a role in reviewing the analysis and valuation of all major Group capital investment projects.
The CIAC Specialist will work closely with the Group and local Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Investment Analysis teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Initiate & manage all significant group-wide CapEx projects including those parts of the annual budgeting and forecasting process.in collaboration with Group Corporate and OpCos on
- Critically analyze budgets and forecasts with consideration to strategies and revenue growth assumptions and recommend actions or changes if needed.
- Perform regular analysis of business performance against key performance indicators, budgets, and forecasts including explanations of the underlying drivers (root causes) of variances in actual performance versus budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for senior management.
- Leads effort to develop Group policies and procedures for the acquisition, disposition, and accounting of CapEx.
- Take initiative of identifying opportunities to improve return on CapEx and collaborate with Group Corporate and OpCos to implement
- Critically review investment analysis calculations prepared by Group Operating Companies (OpCos) for internal consistency and accuracy and recommend changes, if needed.
- Improve and maintain the Group investment analysis and hurdle rate models and develop policies and procedures to improve governance and accountability with respect to capital investments.
- Play a key role in the development of analytical and valuation competencies at the operating companies through benchmarking, best practices, education, training, valuation models, and review and support of projects.
- As part of the post completion analysis, lead the review of the performance of investments and acquisition.in cooperation with the OpCos
Le profil
- Master degree in economic sciences or business administration.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of finance.
- Practical experience in the field of investment analysis / corporate finance preferred, with eagerness to expand into a controlling function.
- Solid data analysis and quantitative skills are required.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, to model spreadsheets, create reports and prepare sensitivity analyses.
- Fluent in English required, with French and Dutch preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Willing and able to travel internationally (30% travel).
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines.
