Director of Nursing - Langfang China

Director of Nursing – LangFang Red Cross Orthopedics Hospital (LRCOH)
Education Required: Current nursing certification and licensure, Bachelor Degree in Nursing from an accredited school in the United States or equivalent. Master’s degree in nursing preferred. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications. Maintenance of continuing education requirements.
Experience Required: Clinical, didactic and administrative experience in an international setting including countries with developing economies. Three (3) years experience supervising a minimum of 25 nurses in an inpatient surgical hospital setting. Experience establishing quality of care programs in inpatient, surgical and outpatient settings. Two years experience in providing direct nurse training. Strong English and Mandarin language skills.

Supervises: 50 Full-Time 10 Part-Time

High level of clinical nursing, teaching and administrative skills; commitment to provide compassionate care to those within the LRCOH facility; ability to effectively communicate with the national and international staff; compliant with the basic policies, mission statement and philosophy of CURE Health Management Services.
Summary: Supports the Chief Executive Team in providing Leadership, Management and Development of hospital culture and quality standards of service.
The DON is accountable for the management and development of quality, client focused services for the LRCOH. In achieving this goal the DON is responsible for ensuring standards of care and services within the nursing department. Maximizing client and employee satisfaction and development of standards of service. The DON will also play a key role as a member of the management team planning for and driving the strategic plans of the Board of Directors.
Essential Duties:
  1. Develop strategic nursing care vision, service development strategy and plans in collaboration with Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Director.
  1. Manage staff development and performance and maintain staffing levels set via approval of department staffing budgets.
  1. Ensure services provided are appropriate to the needs of local people we support and are delivered to the best possible standards.
  1. Direct in-patient IT information systems implementation and training as well as assist in performing quality improvement on systems throughout the hospital IT network
  1. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, regulation, codes of practice and organizational health & safety policies and procedures. Maintain a safe work environment for staff and customers
  1. Report to the COO on customer satisfaction, compliments and complaints in a format to establish best practices or steps for improvement
  1. Participate in new organizational projects as needed including the Aidebao hospital initiative.
  1. Maintain key performance indicator tracking and report on trends through monthly reporting and statistics to COO/CEO.
  1. Provide Financial Management leadership in nursing department
  1. Promote and demonstrate organizational values and standards, and ensure effective and appropriate communication within the organization.
  1. Develop an effective hospital culture through leadership in multi-cultural harmony, training and staff development.
  1. Develop and implement an ongoing nurse training plan to ensure constant delivery of quality nursing care
