Position Summary:


As the Distribution Sales Manager you will be responsible for consistently creating sales opportunities as well as increase sell through within the different channels of the Market Unit – North America. Sell in and sell through will be achieved through developing strong relationships within your accounts and developing and driving marketing programs in both direct and indirect sales channels. You will create and deliver informative presentations regarding products, positioning, pricing and the marketing of programs to key decision makers. Additionally, you will meet and exceed quarterly sales quota targets by demonstrating a high degree of personal commitment, motivation and professionalism. You will also provide leadership, guidance and direction to local Field representatives. The Distribution Sales Manager will be responsible for new business, account penetration and accurate forecasting to insure Sony Ericsson’s market share development with the Market Unit – North America.


Day to Day Experience:


Work with Distributors, Online Retailers, National Retail Partners, Regional Operators, Regional Product Marketing Managers to ensure sell in of handsets and accessories to the distribution, regional operator and retail channels by creating excitement in the marketplace and using sales tactics to drive sell-in and sell-through.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Distributors, Online Retailers, National Retail Partners, Regional Operators, Regional Product Marketing Managers to ensure sell in of handsets and accessories to the distribution, regional operator and retail channels and develop new business channels
  • Develop, negotiate, implement and execute marketing programs
  • Responsible for event management – sponsorships, sales rallies and strategic planning meetings
  • Training - Implement and manage launch and sell through training programs partners
  • Forecasting – work with regional Product Marketing Managers and Sales Planners to ensure accurate product forecasting on a monthly and promotional basis
  • Budget management – manage COOP, MMF and OPEX to ensure a strong return on investment



To qualify for this role you must have:

  • Sales relationship management skills
  • National retail and online retail account management experience
  • Ability to achieve sales results
  • Development, implementation and execution of marketing programs
  • Time and resource management skills
  • Persuasive presentation skills
  • Four-year degree
  • Minimum 5 years sales and marketing experience in the consumer electronics industry, documented sales and marketing success in distribution/retail sales
