Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work: Scope of Work: The objective of the overall project is to pilot a mental health e-Learning curriculum for continued sustainable mental health education for general practitioners and mid-level professionals. The e-Learning Consultant will assist the IMC Jordan Mission in developing e-Learning program with the overall aim of integrating the training package into six primary health care clinics. While the consultant will not be expected to develop technical material, which already exists, he/she will be expected to include the following e-Learning components within the e-Learning package:

  1. E-Learning Training Components
  2. E-Learning Curriculum
  3. Personal Development (e-portfolio)
  4. Trainee Assessment and Performance Evaluations
  5. Training Program Evaluation
  6. Timeline
  7. Resources for Trainees

The consultant will advise on the different modalities which capture learning achieved as a result of the e-learning course. The consultant will be responsible to ensure the following elements are reflected in the monitoring and evaluation scheme:

• Visibility of the e-Learning package • Strengths of the e-Learning package • Weaknesses of e-Learning package • Opportunities for further growth and development • Potential Threats to the Success of the e-Learning package • Measuring the Impact of the e-Learning package • Accommodating National partners (Jordan Health Aid Society and Ministry of Health)

Deliverables: • Research and recommend best e-Learning platform option to host the e-Learning package keeping in mind cost and sustainability; • Submit and update monthly work-plan including cost projections; • Include mhGAP material as outlined in the mhGAP handbook and training curriculum provided by WHO presented in a modular format, four modules in total; • Create e-portfolio option as a part of the e-Learning package; • Adapt e-Learning package to be used in a CD Rom format for contexts without access to the internet; • Collect all proposed e-Learning curriculum and create e-Learning module using a blended learning approach; • Identify and adapt assessment tools to be used to monitor and evaluate e-Learning package; • Assist in the training of field team in e-Learning platform; • Instruct field team on how to compile and analyse data collected for use as comprehensive summary of findings; • Provide troubleshooting services; • Outline recommendations for program adaptations or revisions; • Present findings in a research format to be used for distribute to donors and beneficiaries; • Conduct at least two in country field visits; • Mid-term and final report of findings in both a presentation format as well as written summary; • Develop recommendations on how IMC can further develop e-Learning program.

Qualifications: • Advanced degree in education. Priority will be given to applicants with at least 3-5 years of curriculum development experience. • A minimum of 3 years training adults using a blended learning theory approach. • Experience with managing a software selection process, from defining requirements through vendor selection • Experience with training/learning in an international development context • Curriculum design experience for face-to-face, blended, and eLearning courses • At least 3-5 years experience converting an existing face-to-face course to an eLearning or blended learning format • Computer science/technology background a plus. • Arabic language a plus • Demonstrated experiences in the mental health field a plus.
